Nitro

Saturday we decided to take a look at a few new cars and see what we could find. The Beast isn’t going to live forever, so it was time for something else.

I can’t believe it . . . we bought a Dodge. Yes, you read it, a Dodge. My family is all about the Ford and Mike’s family is all about the Chevy, none of us even like Dodge. My Dad calls them “Dog”. So what in the world were we thinking?

We got ourselves this super cute Nitro. It’s built on the same chastity as a Jeep Liberty (we like Jeep) and it can tow, I believe up to 4 or 5 thousand. Towing is a must – we like to go camping.

Anyways, it was a toss up for a little while with the Liberty or the Nitro. The Nitro had the color I liked, but the Liberty has everything I wanted on the inside including my fabulous seat warmers and Mike’s sun/moon roof. It all came down to price and how much our payments would go up compared to the Beast. We took the Nitro as you know.

I’m pretty happy with our choice. It’s not the Beast in anyway, but it’s a good choice. I just wish it had more pick-up power. It’s really torchie, so it will tow, but when you need to bust a move and jump up to 60mph in a blink of an eye, it just doesn’t do it. I think a turtle can get to 60 faster than I will.

So please Dodge – take this into consideration and make that boy a peppy little thing, not your grandma’s pimp-n-ride.

Anywho, here is our new Nitti.

Body Worlds

I don’t even know where to begin to tell you the experience it was to walk through Body Worlds, it was spectacular. The amazing things your saw and the knowledge you inherit. Things that you don’t normally see, it’s stuff you know exists inside, but the function and ability that is in each of us, is something we don’t take advantage of. The two hour tour of the human body will leave you wanting to learn more and appreciate what you have and want to treat your heart, lungs and liver better. By doing little things it can add years to your life.

I would love to go into detail of what I saw, but it would only ruin your experience if you do plan on going, although I couldn’t explain or show you what I did see, you will still leave in awe.

You walk in and the first display you will see is of the heart, yes it is a real heart. The back ground “music” is the beating of a heart. You stare at it thinking could this really be someone’s heart, it looks so big and fake. (All that you see is actually real, it looks like plastic, but it’s because it has been plastified, but all very real.)

You will learn that if you extend all of the arteries in the human body end to end it would wrap around the Earth more than two times. WHOA!

You see actual muscles, bones, brains, hearts, tumors, lungs, the nervous system and much, much more.

There was something there that I didn’t expect we would see, but there it was . . . the stages of having a baby. Indeed very sad and heart aching, but the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Seeing the 35th week of a child made me think of the amazing experience it was to have my son and how badly I would like to give him a baby brother. I want to explain what I saw and felt walking through that part, but I will leave that up to you to go see, of leave it to your imagination.

Every body that you see has a face and a spirit they are people that have donated their bodies so we can see and learn from what they have done to their bodies. They have eyes of many colors, lips, eyebrows and even toenails. Their bodies are each placed in a certain pose so you can see the muscles and the movement of the joints, where each piece of the body is aligned and should be. Some have skin, some have just bones, some have arteries, some have a little bit of everything; but they all give you something to think about.

Thankful List

A coworker has been tweeting what she is thankful for everyday; such a wonderful idea. Many of us focus on the horrible things in life and complain all the time. I, being one of those complainers thought I would start off, like my coworker and list what I am thankful. November is a month to show thanks and notice how blessed we are. Shogun

We took Wally to Shogun for dinner Saturday night, since we weren’t able to go to Freightmares (such a waste of free tickets). He was pretty good, but still ran around.

He didn’t want to eat anything, like always. But I did manage to get him to try some salad and Miso Soup. He liked the salad and really liked the soup. I don’t blame him; they have the best Miso soup I’ve ever had.

Halloween

Halloween was great this year.

Mike woke me up extra early to decorate my face for work.

I scared Wally when I woke him up, he wouldn’t look at me the rest of the morning and I didn’t even get a good bye hug when I dropped him off at the sitters.

I did manage to get a huge hug when I picked him up early for my work party! (Made me feel so much better.)

I couldn’t find a cute costume this year for Wally so I attempted to make him a zombie that didn’t turn out at all. He wiped all of his face paint off, so he looked like a dirty homeless boy instead.

When I took him to Grandma’s for some trick-or-treating his Uncles made fun of him and said he got beat up. To make it even more fun, Grandma grabbed her eyeliner and painted whiskers and a black nose and threw some black ears on him, to make him a kitty. He was sure cute even though he looked like a bunch of everything in tatted clothes.
