Living Aquarium

For the cold & wet holiday weekend we decided to check out the Living Aquarium in Sandy. With not much to do in wet weather, that was on top of the list after a late lunch and hours spent at the Verizon store to straighten out the bill. (We are paying for V-Cast and not actually receiving the service and it's still not working, but we're still paying. NFL - if I have a choice or an opinion in the matter.)

The Living Aquarium wasn't quite what I expected, but it was still fun. We saw all kinds of sea creatures and I think Mikey had fun and that's all that matters anyways. Mikey was pretty sleepy/tired, he didn't get a nap in other than the drive from Provo to Sandy.

Mike packed Mikey around the whole time as I took a few pictures with my cell (I forgot the camera). He looked around in amazement pointing and rambling on and on about things. We moved rather quickly from animal to animal and quick browse around the shop to not buy anything at all - that's really good.

Anyways, here are a few pictures. The quality is really bad and I don't have a flash on my phone that I could find, so all the pictures are dark.

Back Yard Mania (begins)

It's Mother's Day weekend and our schedule is full, how in the world are we going to fit everything in one day and leave Sunday empty to visit our Mothers and Grandmothers?

We started our day off pretty early, cleaning the house getting it presentable, even though no one is coming over. I just can't stand to have the dishes not done and my bed unmade.

Not knowing that Mike has a whole plan of his own . . . which usually means our whole day is booked doing one of his projects that has been boggling his mind for a while now. He wants to finish his unfinished project - the spa.

First thing is first, the Jetta needs to be moved so we're able to drive the Jeep in the back yard. Everything should be fine, we got her started last weekend and got a bit of gasoline. Nope, not that easy, she didn't start. Mike threw the charger on her and tried starting her again, nothing. He let her sit on the charger for a while this time, nothing. He cleaned off her terminals to the battery, nothing again. Checkers, our first stop of the day. Let's test the battery and see if we need a new, why buy one if it's not needed. While the battery runs through its test, we coud pick up a few things for our project today.

Off to Home Depot (Mike and Mikey's favorite store, mine, not so much). Thanks to Bonnie and Reuben coming up last night helping us pick up 15 bags of cement, I really thought this was a store we wouldn't be going to, but Mike wanted to pick up cement boots, stakes for the frame and whatever else he could think of. He felt like we were there forever, ok, just 2 or 3 hours. Finally back home, and a stop to Checkers.

The battery failed; I guess I knew it all along anyways, I was just hoping not to spend $80 dollars on a car that we are hoping to sale. But with gas prices, we are seriously thinkg about keeping her and giving the gas guzzling Jeep a rest.

New battery and the Jetta is out of the way. Send a few texts to Mike's brothers for some help (Mike and I just can't cut it). No repsonses. Yeah, Tyler can come up, he's all we need anyways, the muscles of the family.

Run back to Home Depot, rent a huge cement mixer and attach it to the Jeep. Great, 2 hours and the cement is done. By this time it's 8:00 at night, rushing to get the mixer back to Home Depot by 8:30 and Main Street is slower than cold tar. Hopefully a few minutes won't matter.

Besides a full day of hard labor, I think we're looking pretty good.

Here are a few pictures of our sleepy boy, he had a busy day.
