Who Would Have Thought

After work on Friday I really didn’t feel like going home or to sit in traffic battling those crazy drivers; so instead I went to get my nails done. It didn’t take too long; just long enough for the traffic to calm down so I breezed home in a good half hour to forty-five minutes. Crazy – the Spouse called to see where I was at since I wasn’t home at my normal time. I told him I got my nails done and I’d be home in a few minutes.

I walked in the door and Mike had this crazy idea to take Wally to Chuck E Cheese’s. I’m not a big fan of public places with a bunch of kids running around, a place where germs are just everywhere. But Mike insisted on taking him there so he could have some fun like all the other kids. Once we got there I was just a bit annoyed, I really didn’t want to be there.

Once we walked in I was just fine, it didn’t look as crazy as I thought it was going to be and Wally should have a great time. Mike ordered us a small pizza and buffalo wings for dinner and got Wally one of those Chucky cups that light up – it sure made him smile.

While we waited for our food to come out, we thought we would put Wally on a couple of rides. I saw a huge truck ride that I thought he would like and it was open, so we dashed over and attempted to put him in. He just screamed and wanted to be held.

Once we finished dinner we walked around trying to put Wally on some rides with little to no success. We came upon a small blue car ride we stuck him in it and surprise; he sat through most of the ride and enjoyed it.

We played tons of games and got tons of tickets, we had such a great time. We were there until close and got Wally a few toys with the tickets.

We will be going back!

Day 4: Half Success

I started the day in a bad mood. No reason at all, just woke up grumpy and went to work the same way. A friend/coworker convinced me I needed a break and something to eat, so we went to Einstein’s together. I got a yummy chipotle wrap with a side of broccoli cheese soup, it really hit the spot. I was instantly in a good mood, almost back to my old self again – dancing and singing around the office. It felt good.

What a nice start to a good weekend.

Day Three: Disaster…

(I’m sparing the details)

I thought the day started off well, but then I get to work and it just went downhill from there. It was a long and slow day, I swear time stood still for about an hour, or at least it felt like it. I was anxious to get home to see the Spouse and Wally, hoping that would change the day around.

Picked up Wally and he was in such a good mood, just made me laugh. Oh how I miss being with him. Spouse got off work early, so it would have been nice to see him when I walked in the house, but he was on the computer. That’s okay, I needed to get some gardening done anyways and Wally wanted to go out and play.

I pulled up all of our crook neck squash (not so tasty) and a few of the orange peppers that weren’t growing so well. Planted some strawberry starters for next year and added a bunch of dirt to the area to help the water drain away from the house. Wally grew bored of being outside and wanted to watch Shrek. Wally and I headed into the house and the Spouse went on to mow the front lawn.

Anyways, being at home wasn’t such a bad thing . . . yet. After we picked up some dinner and got Wally ready for bed, Mike noticed something all over his computer screen (yes the computer is still in Wally’s room). Mike was raging with anger, furious and ready to kill; Wally drew all over the monitor with a permanent marker. Yes, you read it correct, PERMANENT MARKER! It’s totally permanent. The Spouse spent an hour or so with the rubbing the alcohol trying to get it off.

Doesn’t sound so bad right? Well the part you don’t know or need to hear would burn your ears, it burns mine just thinking about it. Besides, this is my private life and this is my outlet, but there are some of you who just don’t need to know that side. So for your sake we’ll pretend it ended with trying to get the marker off of the monitor.

Have a nice night and pleasant dreams, I will see you tomorrow.

Day Two: Success!!

Day 2 was another success; it was a really good day. I accomplished a lot at work and talked to a few coworkers, who always make me smile. I also got my hair colored by Aubs the great!

Spending a couple hours with Aubrey was a lot of fun. We had lots to talk to about while she did my hair. Her kitties were entertaining and so cute.

Day One: Success!

I had a wonderful day and didn’t let the little things pile up. The day was like any other day with the same people and the same environment, but instead of taking it all in, I passed it by.

I went home in a good mood and kept it up through the night as I made dinner, watched Shrek, watered the plants and went to Cabela’s.

I will survive

I have been grumpy way too long; it’s starting to change my attitude for each day. I have a never ending headache, in which the spouse thinks I should get looked at. My response to that: when it’s to the point I can’t stand it anymore, I will go see a doctor. Besides, I think it’s because I am grumpy that brings it on.

It is time to change my attitude and the way I think. I know I can’t change other people, so tomorrow I will start by changing myself, one step at a time. Making my day brighter and hopefully those around me, I will start my day off with a smile.

I will not let those who are cranky, mean and hurt my feelings bring me down. I will not drop for them and give them the satisfaction that they have made me feel small or hurt in any way.

Halloween

I suppose I'm a little early to even be thinking of Halloween, but I am. I am trying to decide what to dress my Wally up as. He could be so many things: cute, scary, strange, etc. the list goes on.

With his recent obsession with Shrek, I thought it would be appropriate to dress him up like Shrek. So I thought I would look around and see what kinds of costumes they have out there. I started with BabyCenter, they were having a good sale, I didn't find anything. Then I got the idea of looking at Costume Craze, the new edition to PG, who took over the old AutoMeter building. Yeah, they had tons to choose from. They were so not cute and what I expected them to be.

I think I am making his costume this year unless I find something I really like.

Shrek Momma

This morning started out like any other morning and I had no clue that my heart would melt.

I woke Wally up as usual and got him dressed for the day. I picked him up and carried him into the kitchen, on the way walked through the living room where he said: "Shrek Momma, Shrek." I asked him if he wanted to watch Shrek and he said yes. I told him, "honey we can't watch Shrek right now, I have to go to work. After work we can watch Shrek all night long." He excepted that as an answer and asked for his chocolate milk.

On our way to work Wally says "Mom home." Broke my heart. How I would love to stay home with the little guy.

All the many activities and fun we would have, it would be endless.

My Favorite Blog

I am “blog stalking” Laughing at Life’s Little Wedgies, it’s my favorite blog of all time. I’m addicted to that blog like I am to Twitter – I have to login in the morning and check those two sites for updates, it’s my cup of coffee that I just can’t live without.

I’m not going to rant about the blog, but I do suggest you check it out. You as well, will become addicted as I have. Don’t try to resist it, just do it – READ and enjoy.
