Almond Time

One of the best times of the year is the Almond reunion. It's usually sometime in July and always in Soda Springs.

DAY 1
This year we decided to try to make it for 2 days, so I only worked 2 hours thinking that would be plenty of time to pack and jump on the road before rush hour. Weel, it would have been plenty of time if it was just me and Possum going. Mike got of work late to come home to fix his pillar, his oil gage and do an oil chnage, so we didn't get out the house until a good 4:30 (boy was I upset). Soda Springs is a good 6 hour drive and to stop every so ofter so that Possum can sretch his legs, change his bottom and get us a little something to eat pushes you a little more behind schedule.

Running already late and not really having any clue on where we are going (we didn't have any directions to the cabin), Bryce was behind us a couple of hours, we all decided to pitch in and get a motel. Thinking it was a great idea because putting this kid to sleep with a billion loud people, just doesn't work, it's easier to control the four of us to be quiet. So I thought wrong and the room next to us was LOUD. (we'll just put it at that. No need to go into some gruesome details of a night that should never be recalled). Finally some sleep.
DAY 2
Good morning bright in early. Quick let's pack and the heck out here. Made our way to the lake for some good old Almond company. Most people where already there or slowing pulling up. It was great to see everyone so early. We are never there that early, infact last year, we were so late we made it to the last few hours. Last year we go lost and went around Bear Lake to get there (the super long way). We got so lost we had to buy a map, don't tell anyone. Mike and I together just don't make that great of team trying to find places. I don't know why he listens to me, I get us lost everytime, you'd think after seven years he's learn.

Not much else to tell, but the reunion is full of food, prize drawings, a bid and fun in the lake with boats and toys. I took the Possum on a boat ride, two seconds into the ride in Grandma's arms he was fast asleep, I wish I brought the camera, it was so cute. After his nap Grandma took him into the lake to play until her back started hurting, so I took it from there.
