The Joys of My Potato Bug

What a wonderful weekend spent with family and cleaning the house with the help of my Little Potato Bug. Mikey is such a helper, putting his toys in the dish washer to get a good sanitized scrub, that's my boy!

He cruises around the house like a race car driver in his walker. He loves being out and about and moving, whether it is crawling around on the floor getting into mischief or strutting his stuff in his walker.

Mikey is 10 months old and is getting more independent each day, but always shows you how much he loves and needs you. He tries to feed himself now, making a mess, but still so super cute.

I always have such fun with what time I have to spend with him. Not being a stay home Mother is hard. I spend most of the day thinking of all the fun things we could be doing, but instead his sitter, Tammy, is having fun with him. I can't wait for the warmer weather, when I can spend my lunch hour with Mikey, taking him to the park for a quick fun time. The few hours that I have with him each night before bed time are precious and I wouldn't give it up for the world. He loves to run around, helping him to walk and bath time is his favorite time. I am teaching him to walk and his shapes. The shapes aren't going so well, he would rather put them in his mouth, soon enough he'll learn and understand.

I've been boggling the thought the of having another child or keeping Mikey a spoiled only child. My friend from work is an Aunt again! It was the most beautiful baby boy, Brandon Kayle (second cutest to my Bug). It got me thinking back when Mikey was first born on Easter Sunday! It was the greatest day of my life, to finally hold him in my arms after 9 (10 months) of uncomfort and morning sickness non-stop. I would go through it all again. I guess with him just 10 months old, when would I have the time for another? I am happy with what I have and it took 6 years to get this far, why rush it? After thinking about it, we are just fine where we are at now. Ok, we will be . . . once we are able to finish a room in the basement and fully move Mike's things downstairs to make a den for him, then we'll be okay. For now Mikey shares a room with Mike's collection of model cars.
